Prem Varieties

We are situated at Devkar Residency, which is right near the Green Tower on Nagar Road. Prem Varieties is the name on the board outside. It’s a convenient spot for the people living in the apartments nearby. We stock a bit of everything because you never know what someone might be looking for. From plastic buckets to notebooks, we try to keep the shelves full. Nagar Road is always loud with horns and trucks, but inside the shop, it stays relatively calm. We’ve been here since the building was fairly new. I usually open up the shutters around nine in the morning. My brother comes in later to help with the heavy lifting. We don’t have a website or anything like that; we just talk to the people who walk in. The Green Tower is a good landmark if you’re trying to find us for the first time. Sometimes the rain leaks a little near the front door, so we have to keep a mop handy. We get a lot of kids coming in after school looking for snacks or pens. It’s a simple life running a variety store. We chat with the regulars about the news or the weather. We try to keep our prices fair so people keep coming back. It’s just us working here every day, making sure things are in order. Sometimes we run out of things, but we try to restock as soon as we can.
