Prayag Collection

Prayag Collection is located in the Mahadik Apartments right on the Pune Solapur Road. If you know Bibwewadi, you know how loud that road can get with all the trucks and buses going past. Our shop is on the ground level so the dust from the road always finds its way inside. We have to sweep the floor at least three times a day. We sell clothes and various items, mostly things that families around here need. There are racks lined up against the walls and a few stacks of boxes in the corner that we haven't found a permanent home for yet. The lighting is just standard tube lights, nothing like those fancy malls. It feels a bit cramped when more than four people come in at once, but we manage. My cousin helps me out on the weekends when it gets a bit more crowded. We have a small desk where we keep the register and some old notebooks for accounts. The front door is usually kept wide open so people can see we are in. Sometimes the stray dogs from the street come and sit in the shade of our awning. We don't mind much as long as they don't get in the way. It’s a simple business and we like being part of the local community here in Bibwewadi.
