Poornima Kulkarni

My name is Poornima Kulkarni and I run things from my place at Shubham Apartment. It's located in the 41306 area of Kothrud, specifically on A M Lane. Kothrud is a great neighborhood, very residential and quiet compared to the main city center. The apartment building is a typical one for this area, with families living all around us. My workspace is just a part of the apartment that I’ve set aside for business. It’s not a formal office with a sign out front or anything like that. When people come over, they are basically coming into a home environment. I like it this way because it’s comfortable and I don't have to deal with a long commute every day. You might hear the sounds of the neighborhood, like kids playing or someone cooking nearby, while we are working. A M Lane is a bit narrow, so if you are driving a big car, you have to be careful where you park. Most of the people I work with are locals or people who have known me for years. There’s no big staff here, just me handling the daily tasks and keeping track of everything. I keep a calendar on the wall and a notebook for my notes. It’s a very personal way to run a business, and it keeps things simple and honest. I usually work during the day and wrap things up by dinner time when the building gets quiet.
