Poona Motor Stores

We are located in Shivaji Nagar over in the Hamal Nagar section at 216/11. The shop is one of those places where you really have to know what you are looking for. We have tall metal racks that go all the way to the ceiling, filled with boxes of motor parts and various gaskets. It’s quite dusty in the corners because some of those parts have been sitting there for a long time waiting for the right engine to come along. We spend a lot of our day looking through old catalogs to find the right part numbers. It’s not a modern store with computers for everything. We still use a lot of paper and pencils to keep track of what we sell. The neighborhood is always noisy with the sound of traffic and people moving around. We have a small wooden bench out front where we sometimes sit during the slow hours of the afternoon. Most of our customers are local mechanics who have been coming to us for years. They know we don't have fancy displays or air conditioning. It’s just a place to get the parts you need so you can get back to work. We open up early and close when the sun goes down. It’s a steady routine and we don't expect it to change much. We just keep doing what we have always done in this spot.
