Autoturn Industries

Our workshop is out in the Saswad Industrial Estate. The exact spot is 584/3/4. It is a bit of a drive from Pune city, but it is where all the industrial action happens. Autoturn Industries is basically a place where we have some machines for turning parts and doing metal work. It can get pretty loud during the day with the lathes and all the metal hitting metal. We wear our earplugs and just get on with the work. The floor is usually covered in some metal shavings, no matter how many times we sweep it during the day. It is a practical space, not really meant for visitors to walk around in fancy shoes. We have got a small office at the front where we keep the invoices and the technical drawings. Most of us here have been working with these machines for a long time. Saswad is a good area for this kind of work because we have neighbors who do similar things. If we need a specific tool, someone nearby usually has it to lend. The weather out here gets very hot in the summer, so we keep the big doors open for some air. We just focus on making the parts according to the specs we get from the customers. It is honest work, and we like the feeling of finishing a big batch of items. We don't have any marketing brochures.
