Parivar Collection

We are situated right at the Swargate Corner on Shivaji Road. If you know Swargate, you know it’s one of the busiest spots in the city with buses and rickshaws going in every direction. Parivar Collection is right there in the middle of all that noise. The shop is on the corner, so we get a lot of wind and dust from the main road. We spend a good part of the morning just wiping down the counters. It’s a busy place and we are constantly moving from one side of the store to the other. We have stacks of items that need sorting and sometimes the piles get a bit high. It’s not the most organized looking place, but we know where everything is. The ceiling fan is always on its highest setting but it still feels warm because of the crowds outside. We have a small stool behind the counter where we take turns sitting for five minutes when things slow down, which isn't often. Dealing with the traffic noise is just part of the job here. We don't have any fancy brochures or a corporate office. It’s just us, the stock, and the people coming in from the Swargate bus stand. We just try to get the work done and make sure the shop is ready for the next day before we lock up the shutters. It’s tired work but it is what we know how to do.
