Paprika Hot Rock sits at Boat Club Road, Amboli 14/19. It’s a bit of an odd address to explain to people, but we’ve been here for a while now. Boat Club Road is usually a bit quieter than the main streets, but Amboli still has its own busy pace. We are tucked away at the 14/19 spot. Some people get a little lost trying to find it for the first time. It’s not a huge place. We just have some tables and the kitchen area. The name Paprika Hot Rock sounded good to us when we first started, so it just stuck. We don’t have a big marketing team or anyone telling us what to do. It’s just us. We open up the shutters, wipe down the tables, and wait for the lunch rush to start. It’s mostly office people from around the area or residents who don’t feel like cooking at home. The rain really comes down hard here during the monsoon months. We have to make sure the door stays shut tight so the floor doesn't get soaked. Sometimes the electricity goes out for an hour and we just have to sit and wait. You can’t do much else when that happens. We keep the place simple with no expensive decorations. Just plain bulbs and some old chairs. It works for us. We know our regulars by their first names. They know where we are on Boat Club Road.
