We have our office at 165 Khondhwa. It’s a busy area and the street outside is always full of people and vehicles. Inside the office, it’s mostly just us and the sound of the phones ringing. We have some old calendars on the wall and a few maps of the local routes we use. It isn't a large place, just enough room for a few desks and a bench for people to sit on while they wait for their tickets or travel papers. The floor is made of simple tiles that we sweep every morning. We get a lot of dust from the road because we keep the front door open most of the time. There is a small tea shop right next to us, so the smell of ginger tea usually drifts in during the afternoons. Our work is pretty routine. We handle the bookings and talk to the drivers who come in to check their schedules. Sometimes the computers act up, especially when it rains hard, but we usually manage to get things sorted out. It’s not a corporate environment with uniforms or anything. We wear what’s comfortable and focus on getting the buses and cars moving on time. Khondhwa can be a bit chaotic, but we’ve been here long enough that it feels like home. We just keep our heads down and handle the travel details one day at a time.
