Om Swami Driving School

Our shop is sitting right there on Nehru Nagar Road in Kalewadi. If you are coming from the direction of Kalewadi Chowk, it is very easy to spot Shop No 1. It is a very lively part of Pune to work in. We have been at this location for a long time. The road right outside is always full of motorcycles and buses, which makes it a very practical place to teach someone how to drive. You really learn how to handle a car when you have to navigate through the Nehru Nagar traffic every day. We keep the whole process very basic. You come in, we talk about how many classes you need, and then we get started with the actual driving. It is just me and a couple of other guys helping out with the lessons. We do not have a fancy waiting room or anything like that. People just drop in, and sometimes they sit and have a chai with us while they wait for their turn in the car. The office is filled with old files and some maps of the local area. We do our best to make sure everyone feels okay behind the wheel because we know it is scary the first time you pull out into traffic. We know the local traffic police and the other business owners on the street. It is a tight community here. Every day is pretty much the same, watching the cars go by and helping the next student.
