The sound of horns and people talking loudly is just part of our everyday life here. We start the tea kettles very early in the morning, and they basically do not stop boiling until we finally close up. It is a small and often crowded space, especially when the weather is a bit chilly and everyone is looking for a hot cup of tea. We have some snacks too, but most people come for the tea. The walls have some stains from the steam and all the years of cooking, but we keep the counters as clean as we can. It is a lot of washing glasses and pouring milk all day long. We don’t have any fancy machines; everything is done on the stove just like we have always done it. People from the offices nearby and the other shops come in for their breaks. We usually know what they want before they even say a word. It is a loud and busy place, and it can get a bit much when the big rush hits, but we are used to the pace of Munjmahuda 40. We just keep the tea coming and try to make sure everyone is served before they have to go back.
