Om Sai

Our business, Om Sai, is located in Warje. We are specifically at the Irla Museum area on the Irla Chawk, which sits along the Tanaji Malusare Road. It’s a very local part of the city. The chawk is always full of activity, with people crossing the street and rickshaws honking their horns at all hours. Our spot is right in the thick of it. We have a basic setup inside. There’s a main counter and some storage space in the back where we keep the extra stock. The walls are painted a simple white, though they’re getting a bit yellowed near the ceiling from the age of the building. We don’t have any fancy air conditioning, just a couple of ceiling fans that hum quite loudly when they’re on the highest setting. The Tanaji Malusare Road is a major artery for this part of town, so we get a lot of dust coming in from the open door. We have to dust the surfaces at least three times a day to keep things looking decent for anyone coming in. We’ve got a small calendar hanging on the wall and a clock that’s about five minutes fast. Most of our day is spent dealing with the people who live right here in Warje. It’s a tight-knit community, and everyone seems to know everyone else’s name. We just keep our heads down and do our daily work until it is time to close.
