Nova Design

Our office is Flat No 21 in the Trimurti Apartment buildings over in Dhankwadi. We’re in the Punyainagar area, specifically at S No 20/1. Pune is a big city, but this part feels a bit more like a neighborhood than a cold business district. At Nova Design, we spend most of our time working on various layouts and plans. It’s a small setup since we’re based in an apartment flat, but it gives us a quiet place to focus on the drawing work. The walls are mostly covered with sketches and notes we’ve made for different projects. We don’t have a receptionist or a waiting room; if you come by, you’re basically walking right into the middle of where we work. Sometimes the neighbors are out in the hallway or you can hear the sounds of the street from the window, but that’s just the vibe of Dhankwadi. We like being in this part of Pune because it’s easy to get around once you know the shortcuts. Designing things takes a lot of patience and several cups of tea throughout the day. We aren’t trying to be the biggest firm in the city, just a group of people who are good at putting ideas onto paper. It’s simple work but it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. Sometimes we stay late when a project is due and the only sounds are the fans and our pencils on the paper. It’s a quiet way to make a living.
