Navnath Engineering

Our small workshop, Navnath Engineering, is tucked away at 16/6 in the Gulave Wasti area near Bhosari Parihar Chowk. If you know the chowk, you know how crazy the traffic can get around there during the shift changes at the big plants. We are right in the middle of it all. The shop itself is a basic concrete structure with a heavy rolling shutter that we pull up every morning at nine. We don't have any flashy lights or marketing banners outside. There is just a small board with the name on it. Inside, it's a bit cramped because we have several machines squeezed into the space. We do mostly job work, so there are always different pieces of metal sitting around waiting to be turned or welded. It gets pretty hot inside during the afternoons, so we keep the back door open to get a bit of a breeze. Usually, it's just the sound of the grinding wheels and the radio playing some old songs in the background. We don't have a computer for billing; we still use a carbon paper book to write out the slips. It’s how we’ve always done it. Sometimes a customer will come in and stay for an hour just talking about the local news while we work. We don't mind. It makes the day go by faster. We are just a local engineering place trying to do right by the people who bring us work and keeping things as simple as possible.
