About National Turning Workshop – Engineering in Pune
National Turning Workshop is actually run out of a spot in the Konark Pooram Society, which is in Kondhwa Khurd. Specifically, we are at B1/3. It might seem a bit unusual to have a workshop in a residential society area, but we’ve managed to find our rhythm here. It’s a small operation, and we don't have a massive warehouse or dozens of employees. It’s mostly just a few of us handling the turning work and mechanical tasks that come through the door. Because we are in Konark Pooram Society, we have to be a bit careful about the noise and the hours we work, but our neighbors are generally okay with us. The space in B1/3 is packed with our lathe and other tools, so there isn't much room for anything else. We don't have a fancy waiting room for customers. If you come by, you’ll probably find us mid-job, wearing our work clothes and covered in a bit of metal shavings. That's just the reality of National Turning Workshop. We take things as they come and try to finish the work on time. It's a humble way to make a living, and we aren't looking to become some giant factory. We like the local feel of Kondhwa Khurd and being part of the community here. It’s just a basic workshop doing honest work day in and day out, trying to make sure every job is done properly.
