Mitali Tours N Travels

Our office is on the first floor at 759/20 Deccan Gymkhana. It’s a busy spot, and you can hear the buses and horns from the street all day long. Mitali Tours N Travels is basically a room full of maps, brochures that are starting to curl at the edges, and two or three ringing phones. We spend most of our time looking at computer screens trying to find decent routes or checking if a bus is going to be on time. It’s not as exciting as the trips we book for people. Usually, it’s just us trying to explain to someone why a certain train is full or why the weather might mess up their plans. The staircase up to the first floor is a bit steep, so we tell people to take their time. We’ve been in Deccan Gymkhana for years, so we’ve seen shops come and go around us. We have a small water cooler in the corner that always leaks a little bit. It’s a lot of talking and writing down names and dates on sticky notes that get stuck to the monitors. We don't have a big corporate team, just a couple of us who know the routes and the hotels. Sometimes we stay late when a group is traveling just to make sure they get there. It’s just how it goes in the travel business. It's a lot of coordination and hoping the rain doesn't ruin everything for the clients.
