We’ve been here in Kondwa for a good while now. Our place is tucked right behind the Maral Weigh Bridge, which makes it easy for the big trucks to find us. Most days it’s pretty loud in the shop because the machines are always running. We handle a lot of metal work here. It’s not a fancy office or anything, just a lot of steel, some grease, and people who know how to fold and cut things properly. My desk is usually covered in drawings that have coffee stains on them. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit outside for a bit until it comes back. It’s a bit dusty because of all the grinding we do, but that’s just how an engineering shop is. We started out small and just kept adding more equipment as the years went by. Sometimes people get lost trying to find the turn behind the weigh bridge, so I usually tell them to look for the big blue gate. It’s a busy spot. We aren’t really into big speeches or polished brochures. Most of our work comes from people who just know we get the job done without a fuss. We spend most of the day in work clothes, dealing with measurements and heavy sheets. It’s honest work. If you come by, you’ll likely see the guys loading up a truck or finishing off a frame. It gets hot in the afternoons, but we keep moving.
