Meru International School

Our school is found on the second floor of Shop No 644 on Sacha Peer Street. If you know the Camp area in Pune, you know it is a very old and crowded part of the city. We are right in the middle of all that noise and history. The school is essentially a series of rooms that were converted for teaching. It is not what most people expect when they see the word international, as we don't have a big campus or any fancy sports facilities. It is just a practical space where we hold our classes every day. Being up on the second floor helps us get away from some of the street noise, but you can still hear the vendors and the motorbikes down below. We have students coming from all over because Camp is such a central location to get to. The hallways are quite narrow, so we have to be very organized to keep the kids moving between classes without bumping into each other. The teachers here just focus on their lessons and getting through the day's work. We don't have a huge budget for decorating, so the walls are mostly covered with simple maps and things the students have made. It is a no-nonsense kind of place. We handle the 411001 area crowd. Most of our day is spent in the classroom or at the reception desk. We just do our work.
