Melody School Of Music

Melody School Of Music is tucked away in Omkar Colony on Rahatani Road. If you are walking down Rahatani, you can usually hear someone practicing a guitar or a keyboard from our place. It’s not a very big setup but we make it work with the rooms we have. We spend most of our afternoons tuning instruments and waiting for the students to finish their regular school day so they can come over for lessons. Sometimes the neighbors complain if the drums get too loud but mostly people around Rahatani are used to the noise. We have been in this spot for some time and it feels like home now. The hallways are often filled with instrument cases and sheet music left behind by mistake. We don’t really do big advertisements because people usually find us through word of mouth in the colony. It's just a place where people come to learn a few chords or how to read music. Some days it’s quite chaotic with three or four different lessons going on at once in different corners. We keep a pot of tea going in the back for the teachers during breaks. It’s a simple life focused on notes and rhythms. Most of our students are kids from the nearby apartments who walk over after their snacks. We just keep the doors open and the music going until it’s time to lock up at night. It is hard work keeping the instruments in good shape, but we manage somehow.
