Mahathi -The School Karnatic Music

If you’re looking for us, we are located right near the Mahindra car showroom on Nashik Road. It’s in the Bhosari Gaonthan area of Pune. It’s a busy part of the city with lots of traffic and noise from the main road. Our school focuses on Karnatic music, which is a bit of a contrast to the car showrooms and industrial shops around us. We have a few rooms where the teachers and students sit down for their lessons. You can usually hear the sound of the veena or someone practicing their scales if you walk by at the right time. It’s not a massive conservatory; it’s more of a local spot where people from the neighborhood come to learn. Most of our classes happen in the evenings after people get off work or school. The rooms are simple, with just enough space for a teacher and a couple of students. We have some mats on the floor and a few instruments tucked in the corners. It’s a bit cramped when we have more than a few people at once, but we make it work. We don't have a big marketing team or a fancy reception. It’s usually just one of us answering the phone and writing down the schedule in a notebook. People come here because they want to learn music, and we just provide the space and the time for that to happen.
