Madhu Music School

Madhu Music School is right on M.G. Road in the Camp area of Pune. We’re in the ISBM Tower, which is pretty easy to spot if you’re near the Pool Gate Police Station. We are also right opposite the Jee Jee Bhoy Zoroastrian Hostel. It’s a lively part of town, 411001. There’s always a lot of noise from the street, but that’s just part of being on M.G. Road. Inside the school, it’s a bit different. We have our space where the instruments are kept and the lessons happen. It’s not a huge place, but it’s enough for what we do. The staff here has been around for quite a while. We know the shopkeepers nearby and the people who walk past every day. Sometimes the rain makes it a bit messy around the entrance, but we keep things moving. We don’t have fancy furniture or anything like that. It’s a working music school. You’ll hear different sounds coming from the rooms throughout the day. Some people stay for an hour, others for longer. Being near the police station and the hostel makes it a landmark for some. We just open up in the morning and stay until the last person leaves in the evening. It’s a straightforward way to run a school. We’re just glad to be part of the Camp area in Pune. The walls are a bit thin, so you can always hear the drums.
