Maya Engineering Works

Maya Engineering Works is over at 101 Pimpri, specifically in Atmajyoti Nagar in the Ellora Park area. If you know where Dosti Bakery is, we are right across from it. The smell of fresh bread sometimes drifts over into the shop, which is nice when we are busy with the metalwork. Our shop is full of machines for engineering. We do a lot of turning, milling, and grinding. It’s loud and there are metal shavings all over the floor by the end of the shift. We work on various mechanical parts that people bring in. Often it’s something that broke and needs a quick fix or a new part made from scratch because they can't find it in stores. We don't have a lot of space for sitting around. Most of the room is taken up by the lathes and the drill presses. We’ve been in this part of Pimpri for a long time. It’s a solid industrial area. People know they can find us here near the bakery. We don't use any fancy computer systems for most of the work, just our hands and the old machines that still run perfectly. It’s basic, honest labor. We show up early and stay until the jobs for the day are finished. Sometimes we have to stay late if a machine breaks down or a part is being particularly stubborn. That’s just how it goes in this line of work.
