Matruchhaya High School

Matruchhaya High School is located at 148 M G Road in the Camp area of Pune. This is one of the busiest parts of the city, so there is always a lot going on right outside our doors. The building is an old one, which is common for this part of Pune. You can feel the history when you walk through the hallways. We have students coming in from all over the city because the Camp area is so central. The traffic on M G Road can be a nightmare in the evenings, but the school stays like a little island of study in the middle of all the shopping and restaurants. Our classrooms are old-fashioned with high ceilings and tall windows. We don't have a big playground, so the kids mostly stay within the building or use the small courtyard we have. The staff has been here a long time, and some of us even remember the former students who now send their own children here. It is a very traditional setup without any of the modern bells and whistles you see in new private schools. We deal with the usual school stuff like exams, sports days, and the monsoon leaks in the old roof. It is a busy, noisy, and very real place to get an education right in the heart of Pune. We just do our work and keep the building standing as best as we can.
