Markanday Public Senior Secondary School

Markanday Public Senior Secondary School is situated right in the heart of Narayan Peth. We are at 638 Populer House on N C Kelkar Road. This is one of those old-school parts of Pune where the streets are narrow and everything is packed together. Populer House is a building that has been there for quite some time. We occupy some space there for our senior secondary classes. Since it is for older students, the atmosphere is a bit more serious compared to a primary school. You will not find toys lying around the hallways here. It is mostly books and students preparing for their big exams. N C Kelkar Road is always buzzing with people shopping or heading to the vegetable markets nearby. It is a very lively place to be. We do not have a big playground or a garden. The students spend most of their time inside the rooms at Populer House. It is a very urban setting. Getting to the school can be a bit of a squeeze during peak hours because of all the traffic in Narayan Peth. But everyone manages to find their way. We have been part of this neighborhood for a long time. The building itself is just a standard Pune structure, nothing too modern or shiny. We focus on the daily teaching and keeping things running smoothly for everyone. It is a simple, honest school where the focus is on the work at hand.
