Our shop is near the Kaka Halwai Factory. You can always smell something sweet in the air because of the factory next door. It is actually a very nice way to spend the working day. We focus on beverages and drinks. It involves a lot of bottles, which means a lot of heavy glass. We have to be very careful when we are moving things. Sometimes things break and we have to spend time cleaning it all up. That is just a part of the job that we accept. Our space is not very big at all. We have shelves that go all the way up to the ceiling to save space. I have to use a wooden ladder almost every hour to reach things. It is a bit of a workout. We do not have any air conditioning here, just a couple of big ceiling fans that hum all day long. The factory nearby has a lot of workers, and many of them stop by our place. We have gotten to know a few of them pretty well over the months. It is a friendly atmosphere. We do not do any big marketing or advertising. We just have a small painted board outside. The location is good because everyone knows the factory, so they find us easily enough. We keep the inventory simple. No need for hundreds of different items. We handle the deliveries ourselves in an old truck. It is a humble setup.
