Mamta Girls High School

Mamta Girls High School is tucked away in the D 2 Commercial Complex on B T Kawade Road. It’s a bit of an unusual spot for a school, being in a commercial area, but it works for us and the families in Ghorpuri. Being right here in Pune 411001 means we are close to a lot of things. The girls come in every morning, mostly from the surrounding neighborhoods. You can see them walking in groups, chatting away before the first bell. Our space inside the complex is kept as tidy as we can manage with so many students running around. The classrooms are filled with desks and old blackboards that have seen better days, but they serve their purpose. During the breaks, the hallways get quite crowded and noisy, which is expected. We don't have a massive open field, but we make use of the space we have for physical activities and gatherings. The teachers here have been around for years and they know most of the families by name. It’s more of a community than just a place of study. Sometimes the elevators in the complex are slow, so everyone just takes the stairs. It keeps us active. We aren't trying to be the most modern school in the city. We just provide a place for these girls to learn and grow in a safe environment. It’s a practical setup, and it’s been working for a long time now. The day ends with a bit of a rush as everyone heads home to finish their chores.
