Mamata Engineering Works

We are out here at Gat No 943-1-A-1 on Ispat Road in Sanaswadi Kawas. It’s a bit of a drive for some, but this is where all the industrial action is. Mamata Engineering Works has been set up here because we need the space for the machines. It gets pretty loud once we start working in the morning. We do various engineering jobs, mostly custom parts or repairs that people bring in. The floor is usually covered in metal shavings by noon. We try to sweep up, but it’s a never-ending job. The staff is mostly local guys who have been doing this for a long time. They know their way around a lathe. We don’t have a big marketing budget or a website that looks professional. Most of our work comes from the factories nearby. They know where we are and what we can do. Sometimes the power goes out, which is frustrating, but we just pick up where we left off. It’s a hands-on kind of place. If you come by, you’ll probably find us in greasy overalls. We don't mind the mess as long as the parts are coming out right. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. The address sounds complicated but once you find Ispat Road, we aren't hard to spot. We just keep doing what we know how to do best.
