Malar Matric Higher Secondary School

Out here on the Lohegaon Wagholi Road, things are a bit spread out. We are located at Gate No. 1395/1 and 1428, which sounds a bit complicated when you’re giving directions to someone for the first time. Lohegaon is changing fast though, with more houses going up every month. We handle students from the younger grades all the way up to higher secondary. It makes for a very long day for most of us. The morning starts early before the sun gets too hot, which is lucky because the playground doesn't have much shade yet. We spend a lot of our time chasing after teenagers who think they’re too old for rules and helping the little kids find their water bottles. The school buildings are practical and sturdy, nothing too flashy to look at from the road. We have a lot of desks that have seen better days, but they still hold up books just fine. Teachers walk in from the nearby bus stop or ride their scooters through the dust. It gets pretty windy around here sometimes, blowing papers across the courtyard if we aren't careful. We just try to keep the classrooms decent and the kids focused on their exams. It’s a lot of paper grading and talking to parents who are worried about grades. We just keep doing what we do every day without much fuss and hope the students learn something useful along the way.
