Mahila Vidyabhavan High School

Mahila Vidyabhavan High School is over in Kharadi, specifically at Row House Number 7. It is a bit different from the big schools you see in the center of the city because we operate out of what used to be a regular home. Kharadi has changed a lot with all the new IT buildings, but our little corner still feels like a neighborhood. Since it is a high school for girls, we try to keep things quiet and orderly inside the house. The rooms are smaller than typical classrooms, which actually makes it easier for everyone to hear each other during the lessons. We use the living area as a main hall and the bedrooms upstairs have been turned into spots for different classes. There is a small patch of ground out front where some bikes are parked and a few dusty plants grow in pots. The stairs are a bit narrow, so we have to tell the students to be careful when they are moving between floors. It is a practical setup for the area. Most of the girls walk here from the nearby houses or take a rickshaw that drops them right at the gate of the row house. We do not have a big staff room, just a couple of desks in the corner where we do our paperwork and eat our lunch. It feels more like a household than a cold office building. We have been here for a long time.
