Mahavir High School

We are located in Pimple Gurav, specifically at Flat No 1 in the Sai Building on New Sangavi Road. It is a bit of a unique setup for a school, being in a building like that, but it works for us and the families in this part of Pune. Space is tight sometimes, but we make use of every square inch. You’ll find teachers grading papers at small desks and kids lined up in the hallway for their morning prayers. The road outside is always busy with traffic, so we have to watch the kids closely when they leave. We don’t have a big playground, but we find ways to keep the students active. The walls are covered with charts and drawings made by the children. It feels very local and grounded. Most of the staff live nearby, so we know the parents well. We deal with the usual school stuff like broken chalk, parent-teacher meetings, and keeping the records straight in the office. It gets quite warm in the afternoons, so the fans are always going. We don’t put on a big show; we just open the doors every morning and get to work. It’s a practical place for learning right in the middle of a residential area. People stop by to ask about admissions while they are out doing their grocery shopping. It’s just how life is here in the Sai Building every single day.
