Maharshi Arvind Public School

If you head down Wadgaon Shinde Road in Lohegaon, you’ll find us. Pune is expanding so fast these days, and this area is no different. We’re right there in the middle of it all. The school is a public one, so we see a lot of different faces from the local neighborhood. It can get pretty loud because of the planes taking off from the airport nearby, but everyone kind of gets used to it after a week or two. The building itself is just a regular school building. We have some space for the kids to run around, though it’s never quite enough space for a hundred kids at once. The road outside can get a bit messy during the monsoon season when the rain hits Pune hard. We spend a lot of time telling the students to wipe their feet so they don't track mud into the halls. The classrooms are filled with the usual desks and chalkboards. We don’t really do anything flashy here. It’s just about getting the kids to sit down and focus on their subjects. Parents come by the office to pay fees or talk about the bus schedule. It’s a lot of small talk and daily chores. We’ve got a small staff and we all know each other pretty well. It’s just a neighborhood school trying to keep things moving along smoothly.
