Started Mahalaxmi Tours & Travels here on the Sangavi New Sangvi Main Road a while back. We’re right near the Thane Janta Bank, so most people know the spot even if they aren’t looking for us specifically. The road outside is always a bit chaotic with bikes and buses going by, but that’s just how it is in this part of town. Our office isn’t anything too special to look at, just a desk, some chairs, and a lot of paper. We spend most of the day answering the phone or talking to folks who walk in wanting to see family or go on a trip somewhere. The fan on the ceiling makes a bit of a wobbling noise, but it keeps things cool enough when the afternoon sun hits the front window. It’s a simple setup. We don't have fancy lights or big signs inside, just some old calendars and maybe a few posters of places we’ve sent people to. Sometimes the tea guy comes around and we take a break, but mostly we are just here working through the bookings. Being near the bank means there is always a crowd outside, which makes the day go by a bit faster. We know the neighbors and the people who work at the shops nearby. It’s a regular life, just running the travels and making sure the tickets are printed right. Nothing more to it than that. We usually lock up the shutters around eight when the street starts to get a bit quieter for the night.
