Madhuvandas Gyandayani High School

Our school is located in the Suswani Complex over in Kondhwa Khurd. It is a busy part of Pune, and we are right in the middle of all the noise and activity. The school is housed in a way that feels very connected to the neighborhood. You can hear the sounds of the street throughout the day, which is just part of being here. We have students from all over this side of town. The rooms are filled with old wooden desks and blackboards that have seen better days. We don’t have those fancy digital screens, just the usual tools for teaching that have worked for years. The hallways are narrow, and when the bell rings, it gets quite crowded with kids rushing out to their next class. We spend our mornings checking uniforms and making sure the classrooms are tidy before the first lesson starts. It’s a lot of work just running a school like this. Most of us live nearby, so we see the parents at the local market too. It makes the school feel more like a community spot than just a cold building. We have a small area where kids eat their lunch and talk. Sometimes it feels like we are always cleaning up after them, but that's what happens with hundreds of children in one place. We don't have a big playground, so they mostly stand around and chat during the breaks. It’s a practical place, focused on the books.
