Maa Sarswati Gyan Mandir High School

Maa Sarswati Gyan Mandir High School is located in an interesting spot. We are at C 1 Charulata Bunglow inside the Ashwini Housing Society. It is right on the Mumbai Pune Highway in Shivaji Nagar. Since we are in a bungalow, the school feels more like a house than a typical institution. We have used the different rooms of the house for various classes. The kitchen area and the living rooms have all been converted. It’s a bit tight sometimes, especially in the hallways, but it works for us. We have a small garden area outside where the kids can sit during their break. Being near the highway means it’s always a bit noisy, but once you get inside the housing society gates, it quietens down a little. We don’t have a big parking lot, so it’s a bit of a scramble when parents come to pick up their children. The school has been here for a long time, and the building shows its age in some places. We do our best to keep it painted and the fans working. It’s a very local, family-oriented environment. We don’t have a big corporate board or anything like that. It’s just us running the school day to day and making sure the kids have a place to study. Most people in Shivaji Nagar know the bungalow even if they don't know the school name yet.
