M Tek Engineers sits at number 151 on the Isckon Mandir Road within the Bhosari Industrial Estate. It is a busy stretch of road, especially during shift changes when the whole area fills up with bikes and buses. Our place is basically a big shed filled with machines and the smell of cutting oil. We have been here at this spot for years, and the walls are covered in old calendars and some safety charts that have faded over time. There is a lot of noise from the grinders and the lathes running all day long. We don't really have a receptionist or a waiting room. If you come by, you just walk in and find someone near the machines. The desk where we do the drawings is usually cluttered with calipers, rulers, and half-finished cups of tea. We do a lot of custom work for the bigger factories nearby. Sometimes the orders are small, just a few bolts or plates, and other times we are working on large frames for weeks. The floor is always a bit slippery with oil, so you have to watch your step. It’s hard work and the days are long, but there is a certain satisfaction when a part fits perfectly. We usually wrap things up by seven and lock the heavy sliding gate for the night. The Isckon temple nearby is a good landmark for people trying to find us for the first time. It helps us stay grounded in the community here.
