About Laxmi Enginerring Work – Engineering in Pune
If you walk into the D3 Block in MIDC Chinchwad East, you’ll find us at 65/2. It’s an engineering shop, so it smells like oil and cut metal most of the time. We have a few machines running, doing various jobs for different people who come by. It’s not the quietest place to spend a day, but we’re used to the noise of the lathes and the grinders. Chinchwad is full of workshops like ours, so there’s always some activity on the street outside. We aren't doing anything revolutionary here. We just take the drawings or the broken parts people bring in and try to make them right. Most of the time it’s routine stuff, but every now and then someone brings in a weird problem that takes us all afternoon to figure out. The floors are rarely clean for more than ten minutes because of the metal shavings. We don’t have a receptionist or a lobby. You just walk in and talk to whoever isn't currently holding a tool. It’s been this way for a long time. We work hard, grab some tea from the stall nearby, and then get back to it. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit around until it comes back on, talking about whatever. It’s just a normal workshop where we do our best with the machines we have. Nothing fancy, just metalwork and daily chores to keep the orders moving along.
