We are located up in Panchgani, which is a very different environment compared to the big cities. The air is much cooler here, and we have a lot of trees around the school grounds. We have been operating for a long time, so the buildings have that old look to them. We are a school for girls, and many of them live here throughout the term. Our days are very structured because we have to look after everyone from morning until night. We start with breakfast in the big dining hall, and then everyone heads to their classes. The classrooms are quite simple with wooden desks and big windows that look out over the hills. Sometimes the fog gets so thick you can barely see the next building. It’s a quiet place, except during the breaks when the girls are out in the courtyards. We have a library that is full of old books that have been passed down for years. Looking after a school in a hill station means we have to deal with things like monkeys and heavy rains during the monsoon. We have a staff that has lived here for a long time, so we are used to the rhythm of life in Panchgani. We don't have a lot of modern distractions. We just focus on the lessons and making sure the girls are behaving themselves. It’s a lot of responsibility, but it’s a peaceful place to work.
