Kendriya Vidyalaya Southern Command

You can find us over on Tarapore Road, right near the Parasi Gym Khana in the Camp area. Being a Kendriya Vidyalaya under the Southern Command means we see a lot of kids from families that move around a lot. It is just the way life is here. The campus is spread out, and we have plenty of trees, which is nice when the sun is beating down. We aren't a private fancy school; we are a government setup, so things are functional and straightforward. The gates open early, and the morning assembly is always a big production. We have the usual labs and the playground, nothing too over the top. The staff handles a lot of paperwork because that is how these schools run. We get kids from different backgrounds, and they all end up playing football together on the dusty field. Sometimes the proximity to the gymkhana makes for a bit of a crowd on the road. We just try to keep the kids focused on their exams and their activities. The classrooms have big windows, and we keep them as tidy as we can. It’s a busy environment with a lot of movement. People know us for being a steady part of the military landscape in Pune. We don't do much advertising; the work speaks for itself through the generations that have passed through these doors. We just keep our doors open for the next batch of kids every year.
