Kendriya Vidyalay

We are based out in Lohagaon, specifically in the New Project Area of the Airforce Station. Since we are on Airforce Station Road, you can imagine there is a lot of security and protocol around here. It’s a unique place to have a school, but it works well for the families stationed nearby. Most of our students come from the families living on the base or in the surrounding Lohagaon area. The atmosphere is quite orderly, which you might expect given where we are located. We don't go in for anything flashy. Our building is practical and serves the simple purpose of teaching the kids who come through our doors every day. The noise of the planes is just part of the background here; we don't even notice it anymore. It’s a bit of a trek for people coming from the main city, but for those of us out here, it’s just home. The staff mostly keeps to themselves and focuses on the day-to-day work of running a school. We don't have a marketing team or anything like that. We just focus on the books and the classes. Every morning the gates open, and the kids file in from the housing quarters nearby. It’s a quiet, steady kind of life here in the New Project Area. We just do what needs to be done. It is not a complicated life, but we take pride in our small roles.
