Our little place at Royal Arcade is quite easy to find since we’re so close to the Akurdi Police Station in Nigidi. It’s a quiet enough area during the day, though the police sirens go off every once in a while and remind us where we are. We have bags of all shapes stacked up against the walls, and sometimes they tip over if someone isn't careful when walking through the narrow aisles. The shop has that specific smell of new fabric and plastic that hits you as soon as you walk through the door. We don't have a big fancy display or anything like that, just some racks and shelves that we've had for years. Most days involve us checking the zippers on the stock or making sure the straps are sturdy enough. It’s a bit of a repetitive job, but it’s what we do. People from the neighborhood stop in after they finish their shopping nearby, and we usually end up talking about the weather or how busy the arcade is getting lately. The floor is made of that old tile that’s a bit cracked in the corners, but it holds up well enough. We don't really use any big computers or systems, just a notebook where we write things down so we don't forget what happened during the day. It’s a simple way to run a business and it keeps us busy from morning until we close up at night.
