K C Karnik is based right on Gultekadi Market Yard Road. If you know the area, you know it's always moving. There are trucks coming in and out of the market yard at all hours, and the noise is just part of the background for us now. We’ve been in this spot for a good while, and the walls probably could use a fresh coat of paint, but it works for what we do. Our space isn't anything you'd see in a magazine. It’s got desks, some old filing cabinets, and the usual stuff you find in a working office. We show up early, usually when the market is just starting to wake up, and we stay until the light starts to fade. The heat can get a bit much in the afternoons, so we keep the fans going full blast. It’s an honest place. We don't have a fancy reception area or people in suits. Most of the time, we’re just focused on the paperwork or the items we’re handling that day. People stop by sometimes just to say hello or ask for directions because of where we’re located. We’ve got a little routine going with the guy who sells snacks down the street. It’s just a normal, everyday business trying to keep things moving along. Nothing more, nothing less. We like being part of the local scene here on Market Yard Road. It feels real and grounded for a place like ours.
