Our little spot is located in Room NOC-196, right inside the Spicnagar area in Tuticorin. It’s a big industrial colony, so everything feels very structured and planned out, but our office itself is pretty simple. Being in Tamil Nadu, the heat is pretty much a constant thing we talk about while we work. The room isn't very large, so we’re all sitting fairly close to one another, which means we hear every phone call and every conversation. We’ve been here at Spic Nagar for a while, and you get used to the rhythm of the plant nearby. There’s a certain smell in the air from the industry, and you see the same faces every morning at the gate. We don't really do anything flashy. It's mostly about keeping the records straight and making sure the daily tasks are ticked off. Sometimes the power flutters and we have to restart everything, which is always a bit of a headache. We have a small window that looks out onto the street, but there isn't much to see except people going to their own shifts. We try to keep things organized, though papers always seem to find a way to migrate across the desks. It’s a practical place for practical work. We just get on with it without making a big fuss about things. The clock on the wall is five minutes fast but nobody bothers to change it.
