Jayee Engineering

Our workshop is over in Ward No -110, right near Dattawadi. If you come through Gate No. 4, you’ll see us. It’s a bit of a drive out here in Nagpur district, but we like the space we have. Engineering is what we do, which mostly means we spend our days around lathes and welding machines. It’s not a quiet job. There’s always sparks flying or the smell of burnt metal in the air. We’ve been here for a good while. The shop is full of old tools that still work better than the new ones. Sometimes we have to stay late to finish a job for a local farmer or a factory nearby. My clothes always have holes in them from the sparks. We don't have a fancy website or anything. Most people just come by because they heard about us from someone else in the ward. We have a small desk where we keep the bills, but it’s usually buried under some heavy metal parts. The floor is concrete and pretty stained with oil. We get a lot of trucks passing by outside. It’s a busy area but we know all the neighbors. We just do the work that comes in. If a machine breaks, we try to figure out why and fix it. That's the whole story of this place. We drink a lot of tea to stay focused through the afternoon heat and dust.
