Our office is right there in Gondhali Nagar, sitting close to Sanket Mangal Karyalaya in Hadapsar. If there is a wedding happening at the hall, the whole street gets blocked up with cars and people, which makes our job a bit chaotic. We spend a lot of time on our phones, talking to drivers and checking where the cars are on the road. It’s a lot of waiting around sometimes, sitting on the plastic chairs outside the office while we wait for a booking to come through. The walls inside are covered with old calendars and a few maps that we don't really look at much anymore because everyone uses their phones now. We have a few regular drivers who have been with us for years, and we usually sit together having tea near the gate when things are quiet. It’s not a polished corporate office with air conditioning and fancy desks. Most of the time, there is dust from the Malvadi road coming in, and we are just trying to keep the fleet moving. People come in looking for a car to go to the airport or for a family trip, and we just write it down in the big ledger we keep on the main desk. It’s a straightforward business, really. We just focus on getting the vehicles from one place to another without too much fuss.
