Jagdamba Auto

Working out here in Fulgaon is mostly quiet, which suits us just fine at Jagdamba Auto. We don’t have a big fancy garage with glass walls or anything like that. It’s just a practical space where we can get under the hood of a car and see what’s going wrong. Most of the time, our hands are covered in grease by ten in the morning. We’ve got some basic tools, a lift that creaks a little when it goes up, and a radio that mostly plays local stations. People from around Fulgaon know us because we’ve been here a while. They bring in their old bikes or cars when they start making a weird knocking sound. We don't use any high-tech diagnostic computers; we just listen and poke around until we find the trouble. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. Sometimes a dog from the street wanders in and sleeps in the shade of a parked truck. We don't mind. The floor is mostly concrete with some oil stains that we can't seem to scrub out, but that’s a garage for you. We don't spend much time on the computer, maybe just to check for a part price now and then. It’s just about getting the vehicles back on the road so people can get to work. We like the smell of oil and the sound of a wrench hitting the floor at the end of a long day.
