J R D Machines is tucked away at 67/4 Chinchwad Dala Patels Pole, right on Mg Road in D Block No 3. It is a bit of a specific spot to find if you aren't familiar with the area, but we have been here long enough that most locals know the way. The shop is filled with various bits and pieces of machinery and tools that we work with every day. It’s a greasy, hands-on environment where there is always something needing attention or repair. We don't spend money on fancy decorations because the machines take up all the room anyway. Our day usually starts early when the traffic on Mg Road is just beginning to pick up. We deal with a lot of different types of equipment, and it can get pretty loud when things are running. The space in D Block No 3 is where we do all the heavy lifting and the fine-tuning. It’s not a quiet job, and your hands are rarely clean by the time lunch rolls around. We’ve got some old regulars who stop by just to chat about how things used to be in Chinchwad. We just focus on the task at hand and try to get the machines back in working order as quickly as we can. It’s honest work, and we don’t feel the need to make it sound like more than it is. Just a machine shop doing what it does and keeping things moving.
