Down on Mysore Road at number 529 in Pirangoot, that’s where you’ll find our shop. Iqs Engineering Pvt Ltd is basically a big workshop filled with the sound of grinding and welding most of the time. The commute out here can be a bit of a stretch for some of the staff, but we’ve made a home out of this space over the years. The floor is concrete and has a few cracks that have been there since the day we moved in. We mostly deal with mechanical parts and fabrication for other companies. It’s noisy and sometimes the power fluctuates when the neighboring units start their heavy machinery, but we manage to keep things moving along. We usually have a kettle going for tea around four because everyone needs a break by then. There isn't much of a front office to speak of, just a couple of plastic chairs and a file cabinet that doesn't lock properly anymore. We focus on the drawings and getting the metal cut to the right size. Sometimes the delivery trucks arrive late because of the traffic on the main road, and we end up staying back to help unload everything. It’s practical work and we don't spend money on fancy signs or decorations. People know where we are because of the big blue door at the entrance. It’s just us doing what we know how to do, day in and day out, without making a big deal of it.
