Indian Ties is situated at Ganeshkhind Naigaum 132/A. It’s not on a main highway, so it’s a bit quieter than some of the other spots around here. We spend our days surrounded by fabric and boxes. Our workspace at 132/A is mostly filled with racks where everything is sorted by color and pattern. We don’t have a fancy showroom with expensive lighting; we just use regular tube lights so we can see the threads clearly. Most of our work is repetitive, checking the stitching and making sure the labels are on straight. We aren't a big factory with hundreds of workers, just a small operation where we know where everything is kept. The building itself is an older one, and sometimes the windows rattle when a heavy truck goes by on the road outside. We don’t spend much time thinking about branding or missions. We just focus on the orders we have to get out by the end of the week. Sometimes it gets a bit dusty with all the fabric lying around, so we have to clean the floors more often than you’d think. People who come to find us usually know exactly what they’re looking for. We don’t do a lot of talking; we just show what we have and get back to work. It’s a steady kind of business, and being here in Naigaum suits us just fine. We’ve been at this address for a while and don’t plan on changing much.
