Indian Press Tools

Indian Press Tools is a small industrial unit at S/54 in Bhosari. If you know this part of the city, you know it’s mostly factories and workshops. We’ve been here for many years, working out of the same shed. The floor is always a bit stained with oil and there’s metal scrap in the corners. We make tools and dies for industrial presses. It is loud and hot work, especially in the summer months. We don't have an office with air conditioning or a fancy waiting area. If you come to see us, you’ll find us on the shop floor with the machines. We focus on the precision of the tools we make. There are a few of us here who have been working together for a long time. We know each other's habits and how to get the machines to behave. Sometimes we have to work late to get an order out for a customer who is in a rush. We don’t mind because it’s just the way things go in Bhosari. We get our lunch from the local canteen or bring it from home. It’s a basic life, but we just try to make sure the stuff we produce is good. We don't do any marketing; people just know we’re at S/54. We just keep our heads down and keep the machines running.
