It started small here in Kothrud at 129/2/3. Most mornings it gets pretty crowded around the counter. We mostly just focus on making the tea right and keeping the stove going. People stand around outside while they wait for their orders. Sometimes we run out of snacks by the afternoon because it's a busy spot. It’s not a fancy place by any means. Just a few benches and the smell of ginger tea. The neighbors know us well. We’ve been at this same spot for a while now. The rain sometimes gets in through the front, but nobody seems to mind much. We just keep serving until the milk runs out or it's time to close up. It gets loud when the college kids come by. They talk a lot and stay for a long time. Our tea is simple. We don't change the recipe much. The kettle stays hot all day. Sometimes the sugar isn't perfect, but people keep coming back anyway. Kothrud is a good place to be. We see the same faces every single day. Some people don't even have to say what they want anymore. We just know. It's just a regular shop where you can get a hot drink and move on with your day. Nothing more to it really. Just us and the stove at 129/2/3. We hope the gas cylinder doesn't run out during the lunch rush.
