Hegde Precision Engineering Works

People usually find us down at 54/12 D in Chinchwad, right near the Vichhi Pole Naka. It’s a busy spot and the workshop gets pretty loud once we start the machines in the morning. Hegde Precision Engineering Works has been sitting here for a while now. Some days it’s just a lot of metal shavings and trying to keep the tools sharp. We spend most of the time looking at drawings and making sure the dimensions are right before anything goes out. The guys usually take their break outside near the gate where it's a bit quieter. Sometimes the traffic at the Naka makes it hard for the trucks to turn in, but we manage. It’s not a fancy place, mostly just grease, old fans humming, and the sound of steel being cut. We don’t have a big front office or anything like that. If you come by, you’ll probably see someone covered in oil or drinking tea while they wait for a machine cycle to finish. There’s always a stack of finished parts in the corner waiting to be picked up. The rainy season makes the roof leak a bit in the back, but we just move the stuff around. It’s just how things go around here. We stay busy with whatever work comes through the door, even on the days when everything seems to go wrong. There is always someone cleaning up the scrap metal or checking the oil levels in the old lathe machines.
